Petri Dish Filling Machine!
Purpose:
Manufacture of an existing machine for the purpose of accurately filling petri dishes to varying levels and then stacking ready
to be packaged, while upgrading to an advanced control system
capable of storing and recalling parameters in a database,
providing security features and diagnostics.
Solution:
The machine was copied by our team by taking measurements of the original machine. From these measurements the machine was
3D modelled in Autodesk Inventor.
The manufactured components were, depending on the component, built in house or shopped out due to time, manpower or equipment
constraints. Off the shelf components were sourced locally in Australia.
The machine construction was completed at our premises, which included mechanical, control system,
pneumatic and electrical components.
The construction phase was then followed by a testing and fine tuning phase before the machine was shipped to, and commissioned
at, the customers premises.
Technology:
The Petri dish filling and stacking machine incorporated multiple servo motors
. There are 3 servo controlled
peristaltic pumps
and a servo controlled
conveyor. The machine was controlled by a PLC
and interfaced
via a WinXP based HMI.
