Purpose:

Upgrade of detonator assembly tooling to improve operator ergonomics, with special attention applied to safety considerations.

Solution:

The machine developed by our team was based on an original machine. The machine was 3D modelled in Autodesk Inventor.

The manufactured components were, depending on the component, built in house or shopped out due to time, manpower or equipment constraints. Off the shelf components were sourced locally in Australia.

The machine was constructed at our premises, which included mechanical, pneumatic and electrical components. The

control system

and interface were programmed by the customer

After the construction phase the machine was shipped to the customers premises.

Technology:

The detonator crimper & blocker unit incorporated an AC drive for user adjustable table height. The machine was controlled by a

PLC

and interfaced via a touch screen HMI.
