Stick Sorting Machine!

Purpose:

Retrofit and upgrade of multiple ice cream stick sorting machines to a high speed vision system for quality assessment and grading of the ice cream sticks.

Solution:

The single machine was shipped to our premises where a full

control system

, and partial mechanical upgrade was designed and fitted.

The manufactured components were shopped out due to equipment constraints. Off the shelf components were sourced locally in Australia.

The machine was upgraded at our premises, which included mechanical, pneumatic, electrical components,

control system

and interface.

The upgrade phase was then followed by a testing and fine tuning phase before the machine was shipped to the customers premises and fully commissioned on-site. After successful commissioning of the first machine the following machines were upgraded.

Technology:

The stick sorting machine was upgraded with a 4 camera computer controlled vision system, a measurement laser, an advanced lighting system and a variable speed AC drive. The machine was controlled by a

PLC

and interfaced via an HMI.
